It dawned and once again I felt excited. It was the day I bought myself a juicer for my early Christmas present. The one thing I knew was to get a centrifugal ejection one, which sounded almost rude to me. But I found one, and it was on special. It was $189.00, but the best one with a 1200 motor and easy cleaning. I figured if I want something that will last, go for the best while it's on special, down from $275.00. I love a bargain.
Then it was to the Organic Shop - Holy Heck, why is organic fruit so expensive? Why buy one poor little avocado for $2.50 when I can buy six for $2.00 down the road. I did get some apples that were well priced but that was it. I did get myself some almonds which I'm told help with reflux, and the healthiest sugar available if there is such a thing, but for those special times. Considering we've only bought a one kilo bag of white sugar in 3 years it's not a major. Also some organic soy sauce and himalayan sea salt which I'm led to believe is the best around.
I tell myself this is the setting up and ongoing won't be too costly. Think of what I'll save on the bakery and other treats.
Then it was to the supermarket for all the other necessities. Extra Virgin oil, cold pressed. Don't you love the term Extra Virgin. To me you either are or you aren't. Some good Rye bread. Make sure your bread is brown, the darker the better, and shouldn't be too soft. This new regime was great for me. We'd left the house at 12 midday, and got home at 5p.m. and not had lunch. Losing weight must be a good side effect. Fingers crossed. Now I have everything I need - silent reflux lol, and I'm armed with all the goodies I need to beat this blight.
As I munched my lunch sandwich at 5.20p.m., I said to Pog. I can do this, as there is still a lot of food I can eat that I really like. The hard part will be not eating the food I really love. Ice cream, cheesecake, potato chips and so the list goes on.
But hey I've done another day, and I've survived. I've not eaten a lot and surprise, surprise I'm not actually hungry. I'm slowly changing my habits. Not drinking water with my meal but after it. Putting some lemon in with it. Learning about our acidic and alkaline systems, and how we need to rid ourselves of the over abundance of acidic foods. It's all baby steps.
Tomorrow is juicer day, and yes once again I am excited. If no one else finds this and joins me in the journey, it'll still be wonderful for me to look back on and see how far I've come.
Good night
Jude
