But wait there's more

So what's actually happening with the reflux you ask. It's still here.

Last night I was thinking those meds are working as I've not noticed it much today. Maybe it's coming under control. But this morning I had the sore throat and palate as soon as I woke up. My throat also often feels very dry, as it does today, but I don't have the bile/burning taste, and I'm not burping nearly as much as I used to.  That of course, could be the change of diet. The Omeparazole has given me a new feeling at times of a tightening in my throat which is not pleasant. However, I made the decision to try them for 2 weeks so doctors can't say I'm stubborn or merely an alternative therapy nut.

Interesting that yesterday I also had my daughter and and 2 grand daughters here, and we wrapped presents and put the tree up. In other words I was otherwise engrossed, having fun and didn't think about it for hours on end. Did relaxing help? I bet it did!

We juiced carrots and apples, and the girls enjoyed helping and tasting.  They were fascinated by the amount of pulp left over and wanted to know what we could do with it. Well, we turned it into a tasty lunch that had them asking was there any more.

I made some fritters with the pulp. While cooking them in a bit of oil wasn't good, I tried to keep as health as possible in other ways. We used the carrot and apple pulp, some soy sauce, Himalayan salt, gluten free flour, 1 egg and a bit of milk, and you could use any other seasoning you like. They sat reasonably well inside me and didn't cause me any major reflux problems. Maybe the organic and gluten free options help?

Day 5 on the pills, and the dry mouth is back so what will the next 14 bring. Who knows - not me that's for sure.

I have been told by a friend about Radiance digestive enzymes. She has bad reflux combined with gallbladder problems. She tried Omeparazole and it made her worse. She then was put onto another medication which helped a bit, but when she read about what these drugs can do she wanted off. She got the above mentioned enzymes and is amazed at the huge difference they've made. She then put her husband onto them, and he also has noted a marked improvement in his reflux. It makes me wonder, is there anyone adult out there who doesn't suffer from reflux?

Doctors give us drugs to fix us, when in turn they can often create whole new issues. I firmly believe my reflux was caused by antibiotics 7 years ago, and I've suffered on and off ever since. It was a locum, and he gave me  an antibiotic ( tetracycline or similar)   for an infected sore throat, and hey presto, welcome into my life reflux.  Now doctors will say to me, "oh yes, that drug can cause reflux." Charming!

Lunchtime now - hmm what to eat is the problem. I'll let you know...
